Can we put down a deposit on a puppy before it is ready to go home?
Absolutely. The puppies are sold on a first come first server basis, so if you have not put down a deposit on a puppy, anybody could step in and take it.
While we typically wait until 6 weeks before placing ads, so the puppies are ready to go, occasionally we'll place ads a week or two early and pre-sell the puppies, so it is important to put down a deposit if you're sure you've found the puppy you want.
Deposits are typically made in $100 increments and each $100 will hold the puppy for 1 week starting on the date that the puppies are ready to go home. For example; if a $100 deposit is made on the 5th for a puppy that is ready to go home on the 20th, that would reserve the puppy until the 27th. At that time, the puppy either needs to be picked up, or an additional $100 deposit needs to be made which will hold the puppy for 1 additional week.
While the deposit itself is non-refundable, all deposits are applied to the purchase price of the puppy. Deposits can be made by cash, money order, check (if holding the puppy for more than a week), or PayPal.
